Although the Epson WF-2661’s paper capacity is on the low side, it offers a wealth of features that makes it worth a look. This NFC-capable device is a four-function machine developed by Epson as one of its WorkForce inkjet printers.

It’s a fast workhorse printer featuring PrecisionCore printhead technology, and it has a set of connectivity options that cover both wired and wireless connections, letting users use the printer no matter where they are.

PrecisionCore inkjet technology adds more nozzles to the Epson WF-2661’s printhead, making it prints faster and produces better colors. However, Epson has made some adjustments to the printer so that it can be sold at a lower price, and the adjustments affect the print speed, though it is still faster than the print speed of the older micropiezo technology.

Regardless of how sophisticated a technology is, there is always a limit, and the Epson WF-2661’s engine is limited to 3,000 pages per month. Printing more will put it at a higher risk of damage. Users who need to print that many pages, however, will face another issue. It’s the paper capacity. As there is only a single 150-sheet paper tray, users will be refilling it pretty often. Even worse is the output capacity, which can only handle 30 sheets of A4 paper.

The Epson WF-2661 isn’t only lacking in paper and output capacity, but also in the cartridge yield. The standard one only yields approximately 250 pages in black and 290 pages in color, so users with high volume printing have to replace the cartridges very often. It won’t be as often as refilling the paper tray, but it is still a hassle, and on top of that the running cost will be very high. There is an optional cartridge version that offers a larger capacity as an alternative. While it may not help reducing the running cost, it will lessen the frequency of refilling the paper tray.

While the Epson WF-2661 isn’t marketed as a photo printer, it does have the capability to print photos, even the borderless ones, with a quoted speed of approximately 66 seconds for those with borders and 82 seconds for the borderless.

In printing text, graphics, and photos, in addition to the PrecisionCore, the Epson WF-2661’s printhead is also supported by Variable-Sized Droplet technology, which sprays the ink droplets in different sizes, with 3.3 pl being the smallest one.

All things considered, it is evident that the Epson WF-2661 fits best as a light-duty printer, and it has many features that make it indispensable in home offices. Its ADF, for example, is a tremendous help for users who sometimes copy longer documents.

Likewise, its auto duplex printing unit is as helpful, if not more.
