For anyone desperately looking for an affordable printer, Canon made it easier by introducing the iP1300. A basic yet reliable solution to print pages. Print speed, however, isn’t at a level where it can be considered fast.
The Canon iP1300 is the kind of a printer that needs to be put on a desk to print pages, but some buyers would probably need a separate desk for it. The unit isn’t really a large one, but it does need more space around it.
Features and Highlights
The Canon iP1300 doesn’t come with a display. It only has an operation panel at the front, consisting of a power button, resume/cancel button, a power lamp, and an alarm lamp. That last one will be flashing if an error has occurred, and if it is flashing together with the power lamp, it means the error may require a service call.
At the back of the printer are sockets for USB to connect it to a computer via a compatible cable and power cord to supply the power required by the printer to be functional.
The ink compartment in the printer has two slots for two FINE cartridges. One is a cartridge containing black ink (PG-40) and the other is a cartridge containing three colors (CL-41). Only the last one included in the box, so you may have to buy the black cartridge separately.
The inks stored in those two cartridges should be sufficient for everyday printing. Also, any of them is easy to replace. Users just need to open the cover, take out the empty ink cartridge from inside the compartment, insert the new ink cartridge into the empty slot, and then close the cover. It is so easy that anyone can do it without having to read the manual.
Every printer needs a printhead to print pages, and so does the Canon iP300. There are more than one thousand nozzles in the printhead, 320 of which are used to eject droplets of black inks, and the others are used to spread color inks on to the paper, with each color is handled by 384 nozzles.
Power consumption is only ten watt during printing, which drops to one watt or even lower when the printer is running on standby mode, and it drops even further to approximately 0.5 watt when the printer is turned off.
While its power consumption is low, some users who consider tri-color cartridges are more costly than individual ones may lose their interests as soon as they learn about the fact that the Canon iP1300 uses such cartridge, though.

It’s a shame that the printer doesn’t provide support for network printing, but the absence of such feature helps cutting down the purchase price so that people who are never going to connect it to a network can save their money. No one wants to waste their money, after all.
When it comes to printing, the printer doesn’t print as quick as many newer models, and its print quality is average. You can click the link below to download Canon iP1300 Driver for Windows:
