Epson T60 is a solution to photo printing. It can, of course, print documents too, but its main purpose is to provide an affordable, reliable, and easy-to-use machine for photo hobbyists to print their shots at high resolutions in the shortest time possible.

It’s a single-task printer whose price rivals those of some multifunction printers such as Canon PIXMA MX350. It has no card reader, PictBridge USB port, or LCD screen to operate the printer in a standalone mode. In other words, it can only print after it is connected to a computer, and the computer must be turned on.

The ink supply system of Epson T60 is composed of four standard ink cartridges and two additional ink cartridges (light magenta and light cyan). The addition is meant to produce a better photo print quality. However, it also means that you have to spend more money on the ink cost because there are more ink cartridges that must be replaced when they are empty.

Epson T60 can print on CD/DVD as well as papers. It has a separate slot to which the output tray must be inserted whenever you need to print on an optical disc. Unlike papers that are loaded from the back, CD or DVD is loaded from the front.

The printer only has a single USB port, as well as a power socket, on the rear panel. The USB port is used to transfer data from a connected computer. On the front panel, there are three buttons to turn the printer on and off, change the cartridge, and cancel a print job. Each has a light indicator, informing the status of the printer.

120 sheets are the maximum paper capacity of Epson T60, and the largest paper size it can handle is 8.5 x 44 inches. In addition to CD/DVD printing, the printer also supports collate and double-sided printing.

Epson T60 is pricey, but its running costs is even more expensive. The full-color photo print quality is impressive, but the text quality is not good enough for presentation purposes.
