Epson R340 lets you print borderless photos without always relying on your PC. You can insert a memory card into one of the available slots and then use the control panel, as well as the 2.4-inch LCD, to print the photos.
If you have a digital camera, you can connect it to the printer through the USB port and then print the photos stored in the camera. The USB port, which is positioned on the front, can also be used to plug in a thumb drive or any other compatible storage device.
Features and Highlights
Epson R340 has three slots for different types of memory cards (compact flash, ms card, secure digital, multimedia card, smartmedia card, miniSD, xD picture card).
Even though there are multiple memory card slots, you should only insert one card at a time. When inserting a card, you need to stop when the card can no longer be pushed in even though it doesn’t go in all the way. After the printer detects the photos stored on the card, it will prepare the photos so that you can print them immediately.
The LCD screen on the front is where you can view the photos. The surrounding buttons provide quick access to perform various tasks such as cropping photos, zooming in photos, displaying multiple photos at once, printing on CD or DVD, navigating through the menu options, adjusting the printer settings, printing directly from external devices, running maintenance tasks, fine-tuning the print settings, checking ink levels, and navigating through the screen.
To print on an optical disc, the disc must be placed on the tray that has been specifically prepared for loading the media. A small CD ring is provided to print on a 8-cm CD. Inserting a DVD or CD must be done carefully because the printer, tray, or disc, can get damaged if the disc is inserted incorrectly.
Epson R340 can print one photo, a sequence of photos, multiple photos by date, all photos, or a proof sheet, which is a page containing thumbnails of all photos stored on a memory card or another storage device.
The printer uses six dye-based ink cartridges to print photos, each of which can be replaced easily. An installed cartridge may not be able to produce the best results when it is more than six months old. If you notice that the quality of printouts drops, you may need to replace the cartridge.

Each ink cartridge is quite pricey, which may tempt some users to buy the value pack instead of buying individual cartridge. The upfront cost of a value pack is higher than buying a single cartridge to replace the empty one, but buying a value pack will help reduce the cost per page significantly.
The output quality of Epson R340 is impressive for photos. As for printed documents containing text and graphics, the text is readable and the graphics look good with only some barely noticeable flaws. You can click the link below to download Epson R340 Driver for Windows:
