The Epson CX7300 is a relatively inexpensive all-in-one printer. Having this type of machine is a more viable option than having four separate devices in a small office. It certainly doesn’t take up much space since there is only a single unit that can be placed on a desk.

The Epson CX7300 has quite a fascinating speed, which is 32 draft pages per minute in black or color. A 4×6-inch photo is printed out at approximately 26 seconds in draft mode. If you’d like to get the best result, the print resolution can be enhanced up to 5760 dpi, but it will take a much longer time to print a single photo.

To print documents and photos, the Epson CX7300 comes with a piezoelectric print head that has 90 nozzles for each color. Since the printer has four ink color, it means there are 360 nozzles in total, each can deliver 3-pl ink drops onto the paper. This nozzle configuration was good in the past but is not by current standards.

Although the printer can deliver many pages per minute, the paper capacity isn’t one that an office should rely on as there is only enough space for 120 sheets of A4 plain papers. Having said that, it still depends on how many documents that an office usually needs to print out. If you rarely need to print hundreds of pages a day, the Epson CX7300 is well worth the price.

The Epson CX7300 can scan documents, but the only available method to do it is by using the flatbed that uses contact image sensors to capture information from the originals and supports a scan resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi. The multifunction printer has no automatic document feeder, which is a huge disadvantage for offices that scan a lot of documents more often than not.

As for the scan speed, the Epson CX7300 can scan as fast as 2.2 milliseconds per line for A4 300 dpi, 7.2 milliseconds per line for A4 600 dpi, and 8.8 milliseconds per line for A4 1200 dpi. On the other hand, color scanning runs as fast as 26.2 milliseconds per line if the scan resolution is set to the highest scan resolution, and 7.2 milliseconds per line if it is set to 300 dpi.

The CIS-based flatbed is also used for copying documents. Whether you print text documents in black or color, the copy speed is approximately 30 cpm (copies per minute), on condition that you print them in draft mode.

To conclude, the Epson CX7300 is good enough at printing, scanning, and copying. However, the absence of some handy features such as duplexer and automatic document feeder makes the multifunction printer less productive than other printers who have them.
