The Canon iP5200 is an exceptional printer designed for printing high quality photos but is also suitable for printing text documents. Aside from the common features that can be found on almost any printer, it has a few that makes it hard to beat.
One of them is related to paper handling, which provides more convenience in printing photos and documents. Although it is not exactly an innovative feature, at least it is a feature that is worth the price.
Features and Highlights
The Canon iP5200 features two separate paper trays. Users can freely choose either of these two to use for printing. Each of them can hold 150 sheets at most, so it should be good enough for personal printing at home.
A paper capacity of 300 sheets should be more than sufficient to tackle everyday printing. Additionally, the two trays can be used for two different printing purposes. You can leave a stack of plain paper in one tray, for example, while leaving the other one empty so that you can drop envelopes or photo paper into the tray when you need to print on any of the two.
While the printer has two input trays, there is only one output tray. It extends to the front of the printer to catch the printed pages. If you print many pages, you may need to be near the printer all the time to empty the output tray several times.
When all the trays are retracted, the printer measures 6.4 inches tall, 16.7 inches wide, and 11.9 inches deep. Thanks to its weight that is less than seven kilogram or about fourteen pounds, it shoud be easy for anyone to move it around.
The printer doesn’t have many physical buttons. There are only one button to stop printing and another one to switch between the first and second input trays. These two buttons, along with a PictBridge socket where you can plug in the USB connector of a digital camera, are only visible when the front tray opens. There is another socket at the back of the printer, which is the only option available to connect the machine to a computer.
How good a printer can print partially depends on the ink it uses. The Canon iP5200 provides an ink container to hold up to five ink cartridges. There is a black cartridge for printing text and there is another one for printing photo. The rest are cyan, yellow, and magenta ink cartridges. Each one is easily replaceable and more affordable than a tri-color ink cartridge.

The Canon iP5200 lacks a memory card slot, which means that you will have to use a computer to be able to access the content of a memory card before you can print any photo that is stored on it.
It also lacks an LCD display, so the only way to operate the printer is by connecting it to a computer, which could be a laptop or a PC. You can click the link below to download Canon iP5200 Driver for Windows:
