The Canon iP2200 is cheap, so don’t expect any fancy feature. It is, however, a reliable workhouse capable of cranking out pages at a respectable print speed. Plus, it can produce lab-quality photo prints. At least that’s what Epson claimed.
A cheap equipment doesn’t always mean that it is a lousy product, but there are usually some missing features as a trade-off for the low price. In the case of the Canon iP2200, neither a display nor memory card slot nor an output tray can be found on its body.
Features and Highlights
The Canon iP2200 uses high-capacity ink cartridges to let consumers printing more photos and text pages, as well as reducing downtime that occurs whenever the printer needs new cartridges. It sounds good, but there is one issue. The ink system is made up of two ink cartridges. One contains black ink, the other contains three colors. That last one is widely known as a tri-color cartridge.
Consumers who believe that a tri-color cartridge is wasteful would probably consider buying another printer even if they have to spend a bit more on the upfront cost. The major concern about this type of ink cartridge is that you have to discard the whole cartridge even if only one color runs out.
On the plus side, a tri-color cartridge is cheaper than buying three separate ink cartridges, so it is still a reasonable choice for consumers whose printing needs are modest and who’d like to save money on the initial ink cost. Those who print hundreds of pages on a weekly basis should choose a laser printer, or perhaps an ink tank one.
Not every printer has an output tray, and the Canon iP2200 is one of those. Design-wise, it has a fairly small footprint at 430 mm wide and 295 mm depth, but the lack of that particular object makes it a challenge to find a shelf big enough to place the printer and serve as the output tray when it is printing. Some consumers may have to spend more to buy a new shelf or desk because the ones they currently have are too small to compensate for the missing tray.
Fortunately, the print speed may make consumers think twice before ditching the Canon iP2200 over its missing tray. While it won’t print documents at lightning speed, the quoted print speed is pretty good for the price at 22 ppm for pages in black and 17 ppm for pages in color.

In addition to the Easy-Photo Print that lets you print photos with ease, Image Optimizer to fix images, and Ink Saver to print pages with less ink, there is also a quiet mode.
Due to the loud noise of the printer when it prints pages, this particular feature would be very handy when you have to to print in the middle of the night. To use this mode, though, the requirement is to install the driver first. You can click the link below to download Canon iP2200 Driver for Windows:
