The Canon iP1600 is a cheap inkjet color printer with a few surprises. Its good speed is not the sole reason why many people choose to buy it than many other comparably priced inkjet printers.

Its print quality is excellent for its price. It also improves productivity by employing ink cartridges that can print many more pages than those used in some other printers.

On the plus side, the Canon iP1600’s print speed is one of the reasons why the printer is still worth considering for people who need a reliable entry-level printer. At the fastest speed setting the unit is capable of churning out 19 mono pages or 16 color pages per minute.

Minimal power consumption is also one of the single-function printer’s main attractions. 10 Watt is all it requires to print pages, more or less. When you let the printer idles for some time, the standby mode will kick in and the printer will consume even less power. And if you turn it off, the power consumption drops even further.
