Measuring almost 18 inches wide makes the Epson TX210 a less ideal choice for people who want a compact one, but it has a good range of features for home use.

For a start, it is a multifunction unit. Although it clearly lacks an automatic document feeder, it is still a handy one for occasional scanning needs. Additionally, the memory card slot allows printing without a PC.

Ink Cartridges

Each of the four ink cartridges of the Epson TX210 has the same code, namely 73N. They are available in two versions. The standard ink cartridges produce approximately 245 pages in black or 320 pages in color. The high capacity ink cartridges provide enough black ink for the printer to spit out approximately 380 pages in black.

True BorderFree Printing

The term refers to the printer’s ability in printing borderless photos, but it only supports certain media sizes up to A4 size. While it is nice to have such option, keep in mind that it consumes more ink and may produce excess ink, which will make the ink pad gets saturated sooner.

Print Speed

The Epson TX210’s piezoelectric print head has 90 nozzles to eject black ink and 29 nozzles for each of the color ones. Even though the print head has so little nozzles, the printer can churn out up to 32 pages in black, or 15 pages in color per minute, or a single 4×6 photo in approximately 72 seconds. All of which are printed in draft mode.

Copy and Scan Speed

The A4 flatbed scanner supports monochrome and color scanning, with a maximum speed of 2.2 milliseconds per line for the former and 7.2 milliseconds per line for the latter.

The scanner can also make up to 9 copies or 32 copies per minute, depending on whether you copy pages in black or color.

Memory Card Support

The card slot on the printer allows users to plug in a compatible memory card and conveniently access its content from the 1.5″ LCD screen. It would have been better if the printer also supports PictBridge, however.
