The main appeal of the Epson L3219 lies in its ink setup that cuts down on costs without degrading the quality. It’s an EcoTank unit. Unlike some of the older models that attach the ink reservoir to the side, it has the tanks facing front, each with a see-through window to make checking ink levels easier.
It doesn’t have an impressive print speed but is good enough for everyday use, with a paper capacity suited for home office or small office users and wireless connectivity options to make printing easier.
Features and Highlights
Front-Facing Ink Reservoir
Unlike cartridge printers, most (if not all) Ecotank printers, including the Epson L3219, allows users to check the remaining inks directly without booting a computer. This convenience comes from how each tank is designed, which might look trivial but is actually very helpful. Once you notice one or two tanks are almost empty, you can easily open the tanks for refilling.
High-Capacity Ink Tanks
Ink tanks are refillable. Each of them can hold a large volume of ink that’s enough for thousands of pages. Even if you print over two hundred pages a month, you won’t need to refill the tanks. It might take two years or even more for the tanks to run out of the inks.
Scan Pages With a Flatbed Scanner
The top of the Epson L3219 houses a flatbed scanner, concealed beneath a hinged cover, which lifts smoothly to reveal a large glass surface where scanning takes place. The scanner is not complemented with an ADF, so scanning multi-page documents takes a lot of effort. Just imagine how it would feel to lay a sheet of paper on the glass, followed by another sheet, then another, and another one until there is nothing left.
On the upside, the flatbed scanner has its own strength. It can scan odd shaped media like pages of a book or magazine. In terms of versatility, the flatbed is far superior than an ADF. It can even be used to scan a fragile sheet of paper without damaging it.
With or Without a Router
Like most EcoTank printers, the Epson L3219 can print wirelessly. Aside from printing via a Wi-Fi network, it can also print from a mobile device that doesn’t connect to the Wi-Fi network using a technology known as Wi-Fi Direct.
The Epson L3219 and any device that supports the technology can establish a peer-to-peer connection, allowing them to communicate to each other without the help of a router. The downside is not every mobile device supports Wi-Fi Direct.
Epson L3219 Driver Free Download
When you connect a new device to a Windows computer, the operating system needs the correct driver to function properly. Windows includes built-in drivers that often work right away, but it’s still best to use the official software driver.
The Epson L3219 follows the same rule. Its software driver enables printing from a Windows computer and access to all of its functions. You can click the link below to download Epson L3219 Driver for Windows:
