Most all-in-one (AIO) printers can scan and copy pages. A few of them, like the HP OfficeJet 3833, include a fax. These multifunction devices are designed to save space and increase efficiency by combining multiple office-centric functions into one machine.
The HP OfficeJet 3833 is a 4-in-1 device that comes with additional features to make it more convenient to use, such as a 2.2-inch touch mono display, automatic document feeder (ADF), and built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. The tri-color cartridge, however, might increase the print cost per page.
Features and Highlights
Combined Color Cartridge
Most cartridge-based printers run on four ink cartridges, while others run on five, six, eight, or even ten. There are also some that run only on two ink cartridges, like the HP OfficeJet 3833, but still use four inks to print. What really happens here is that one of the two ink cartridges these printers use holds three colors of ink.
Standard ADF
Every multifunction printer has a flatbed scanner, but not all of them is complemented with an ADF. The HP OfficeJet 3833 comes with one that holds a stack of 35 sheets of paper. When the scanning starts, it feeds the sheets to the scanner, one at a time. The whole process runs automatically. The only time you need to intervene is if you scan more than 35 sheets or if the ADF has a paper jam issue.
Paper Capacity
Whether a printer is suitable for heavy use or not can be seen from how many sheets its input tray can hold. Unlike some printers that offer a 100-sheet paper tray or even one that has enough room to hold hundreds of sheets, the HP OfficeJet 3833 only holds up to 60 sheets of paper. It may be sufficient for personal use but is clearly not ideal for busy environments where printing documents is almost a daily task.
Scan Fragile Media
What if you need to scan a wrinkled paper or documents with tears? These media aren’t suitable for an ADF. There is a high chance they become more damaged during the scanning process. Instead, it is safer to use the flatbed scanner, where you can carefully place them on the glass. Other media like books, newspaper, and magazines cannot be scanned by using an ADF as well. Though slow as it is, the HP OfficeJet 3833’s flatbed scanner, just like every flatbed on every multifunction printer, can handle almost any type of paper.

The ADF component is a nice addition to the HP OfficeJet 3833 for people who often scan multiple pages, and the fax helps people save money by not buying it separately. The most useful one, however, is the wireless connectivity because some tasks like printing pages can be done from multiple device.
No matter how many features a printer has, it won’t be able to connect properly to a PC without a driver software. Fortunately, it can be installed quickly without needing any technical expertise. You can click the link below to download HP OfficeJet 3833 Driver for Windows:
