With the capability to print up to 10,000 pages per month, the Epson B300 is certainly a high performance printer aimed at busy offices. Yet, the capacity of ink cartridges used in the printer doesn’t even come close to the number. Consequently, you will have to replace the cartridges more than three times if you need to print as many pages as allowed by the monthly duty cycle.
Sadly, the single function machine lacks networking support too, so it is definitely not a suitable solution for offices that need a printer that can be shared over a network.
Features and Highlights
The Epson B300 is a big machine with a unique design. There is a big bulge on its top left side, which is a container for one black ink cartridges and three color ink cartridges. These are cartridges that contain Epson DURABrite Ultra inks that Epson has boasted about in many chances.
There are enough ink in the cartridges for an office to print between 3,000 to 3,500 pages per month. As you may know already, the more ink that a cartridge contains, it also means the less frequent the cartridge has to be replaced, and the lesser time spent on the printer’s maintenance means there are more productive time for the office.
For paper handling, Epson adds two paper trays into the B300. The front one is the main tray with a capacity of 500 letter-size sheets. The rear one, which is used not only for plain papers but also the specialty ones, is the additional tray with a capacity of 150 letter-size sheets or 60 legal-size sheets.
The Epson B300 delivers the prints to the paper output tray which can handle between 15 to 170 sheets, which depends on the type of paper. If you print on legal-size paper, it can hold 100 sheets at maximum.
The ink that the printer draws from the container is ejected onto sheets of papers through the hundreds of nozzles of the micro piezo print head. 360 of them for ejecting black inks, and the rest are for the color inks. Print speed is about 37 ppm in draft mode, 33 ppm in default mode, and 5 ppm in best mode. First Page Out Time is barely 3 seconds in draft mode for black and color pages.
The Epson B300 doesn’t come with an automatic duplexing unit, but it is available as an optional. If you regularly print a large number of two-sided documents, it is recommended to add the functionality into the printer. It won’t make the printer faster at printing, but at least you don’t have to stay at the printer to manually flip over the sheets.

Thanks to the standard capacity of the ink cartridge, ink refilling is less frequent. Additionally, the printer’s capability to check nozzle automatically for clogging help lessening the frequency of maintenance.
The Epson B300 is also marketed as an economical solution to printing. It boasts an ink cost per page about 6 cents per color page. You can click the link below to download Epson B300 Driver for Windows:
