Ink cost efficiency is one of primary advantages of the Epson L550. The box attached to its right side is where the printer draws the ink from. It works differently from ink cartridges, and most importantly it is cheaper than ink cartridges.

The other advantage of the printer is that it is capable of accomplishing other tasks other than turning files into printed pages. Its automatic document feeder (ADF) can send many sheets of paper into the printer for scanning and copying.

The Epson L550 is a color printer that uses four colors. It ships with three black ink bottles and three color ink bottles. Each bottle contains 70ml of dye-based ink. The reason there are more black ink bottles is because users tend to use black ink much more than color ink.

Micro Piezo

Micro Piezo is the name of the technology applied to the printhead used in the Epson L550. It makes the printhead more durable because it doesn’t use heat to eject droplets of ink. Instead, it uses what the company calls piezo crystals, which react to certain electric signals sent by the printer. Since the printhead can last longer, you don’t have to worry about replacing it soon.
