The Epson R270 is packed with advanced technologies to print on various types and sizes of paper, especially photo paper. Micro Piezo is one of the technologies. Ever since its innovation, Epson has implemented the technology into its line of printers.

The ink supply system of the Epson R270, or the Epson Stylus Photo R270 to be precise, relies on ink cartridges, but there are more of them than you can find on most consumer-grade inkjet printers.

Features and Highlights

Epson R270

Two Extra Colors

While the Epson R270 uses individual ink cartridges just like the R250, it is powered by two extra ink cartridges in addition to the standard set that consists of four ink cartridges and four colors.

The two additional cartridges are also individual models. One contains light cyan color of ink, the other contains light magenta color of ink. Their presence help improve the photo print quality. On the downside, the addition of these colors also translate into higher printing costs.

Drop-on-Demand Inkjet Printer

The Micro Piezo printhead that the Epson R270 uses is fully packed with 540 nozzles. The black ink is ejected from a group of 90 nozzles. The same goes for every color ink.

One of the most impressive features of the printhead is that it is capable of ejecting ink in various sizes, with 1.5 picoliters being the smallest droplet of ink. Not only does it speed up the printing process, but also improve the output quality.

Print Speed

The best the printer can do is outputting thirty pages in black or in color per minute in economy mode. Printing a 4×6-inch photo in the same mode takes about thirteen seconds to finish. Since print speed depends on various factors, your mileage may vary. Printing a photo at the highest resolution, for example, will take a much longer time to finish than printing the same photo at the lowest resolution.

Why You Need Epson R270 Resetter

Epson R270 Resetter

A printer is a handy device for people who need to print sometimes, but it can also turn into a hassle when it encounters an error. If the Epson R270 stops in the middle of printing, one of the possible causes is the ink pads that have already saturated with excess ink to the point it cannot hold any more ink.

This Epson R270 resetter is not a utility that will make the excess ink magically disappears — which is impossible because the only way to get rid of the ink is to take out the ink pads from their compartment and wash each of them thoroughly under running water. Rather, it is used to reset the R270’s ink pad counter.

Epson Adjustment Program is the name of the resetter. This small-size utility has several maintenance-related functions, but none as popular as its capability in restoring the functionality of the R270 after the printer is disabled by the automatic built-in configuration in response to the ink pad situation.
