The ink tank is at the front, beside the output tray. Its design makes the bottles easier to refill than those printers with ink tanks bolted to the side. Since it is positioned at the front, it becomes more accessible to users. Its cover can also be easily opened. It is a bit more hassle than a cartridge, though, since the latter can simply be slotted into the printer every time you need to replenish ink.

The Epson L5298’s scanner lid is rather heavy because it includes an automatic document feeder which has enough room for a stack of thirty sheets.
