The Epson R240 allows you to print borderless photos from the comfort of your home, but the print quality may be lower than that of a six-color or eight-color printer.
A 1.5-inch color LCD is visible on the front panel, providing a direct, convenient access to the images that you want to print out. If you give the printer enough sheets of paper to print 24 photos, it may be able to finish printing in about twenty minutes.
Features and Highlights
Four Cartridges
Epson claims that the Epson R240 is ‘very economical to use’ because it uses individual ink cartridges. The statement is not entirely true because any printer that uses ink cartridges is expensive to run. Even if the cartridges are compared to tri-color cartridges, the amount of money that can be saved still depends a lot on how you print.
Also important to keep in mind is that the printer consumes ink for maintenance too. Users who print photos every other day should get themselves an ink tank printer instead to slash the cost of printing in the long run.
Standalone Printing
Printing with the Epson R240 doesn’t always need a PC. The machine has slots to which a memory card and PictBridge-enabled camera can connect to. Also, there is an LCD screen that displays the images stored on the connected devices. You can print selected photos directly from the screen.
SD card, MicroDrive, MagicGate Memory Stick Duo, Smart Media, and xD-Picture card are some of the memory cards supported by the printer.
Print speed is about 47 seconds per 4R photo, 118 seconds per 13x18cm photo, and 146 seconds for one A4 photo. For document printing, the maximum print speed it can offer is twenty pages per minute in Economy mode. As you can see from these speeds, print speed is not the Epson R240’s forte. It does, however, provide good print quality as long as you don’t try to print a photo in black and white.
Paper Capacity
A home user won’t probably need a 500-sheet drawer for printing. The Epson R240 has a rear tray to take up to 100 sheets of A4 paper, or 80 sheets of A4 Epson Photo Quality Ink Jet Paper, or twenty sheets of Epson Semi Gloss Photo Paper, or fifteen envelopes.
After completing a print job, you can fold down the printer’s rear tray into a flat surface that can be used to hold piles of paper if you want to. The printer has a rather large size, however, which might make it relatively challenging to share a desk with.

The printer provides a quick way to print photos that doesn’t require you to use a computer. However, no matter how convenient the method is, printing from a computer will give you more control.
Connecting the printer to a computer requires a driver to be installed, which is a simple task that can be done by anyone. You can click the link below to download Epson R240 Driver for Windows:
