V-Ray Advanced for Revit is a visualization system for Revit offering a range of exciting features that promise many benefits which include interactive rendering, hybrid rendering, real-time visualization, production rendering, sun animation, and batch rendering, just to mention a few.
V-Ray Advanced for Revit uses two engines for rendering. One is CPU-based and the other is GPU-based. Chaos Cloud is available as an alternative solution for faster rendering or for some render jobs that your hardware lacks enough power to process them.
Features and Highlights
V-Ray Advanced for Revit can render your Revit projects in real time. As you make changes to a scene, the rendered image will be updated automatically. This type of rendering is called Interactive Rendering which runs in progressive mode.
You can configure V-Ray Advanced for Revit to use either CPU or GPU, or by making use of the hybrid rendering capability of the program to utilize both, to render your scenes.
Additionally, there is another rendering technique called distributed rendering that can be implemented by enabling V-Ray Swarm. This technique uses multiple computers that are connected to each other. It works by installing V-Ray Swarm on every computer that is going to be used as a part of the rendering resources.
Using Chaos Cloud is probably the easiest solution to handle render jobs. All you need to do is enabling the service, submit the render jobs to the service for analysis, adjust some settings based on the analysis, and wait until the render jobs are completed.
If you have multiple renders, you can run the Batch Rendering mode. Just one click of a button and it will render all of them at once. This mode saves time, but unfortunately it can only be used on a local machine. The cloud service doesn’t support it yet.
V-Ray Advanced for Revit displays renders in a frame called V-Ray Frame Buffer. The frame offers some advantages such as the ability to switch between all render elements in one window, store the history of recently rendered images, and apply some adjustments to the rendered image. It also has a dropdown list from which you can switch between render channels.
The adjustments that can be applied to a rendered image in V-Ray Frame Buffer includes color correction, but not all corrections are preserved when you save the image to disk, namely some of those corrections that are required to display the rendered image properly.

V-Ray Advanced for Revit is a strongly recommended plugin. With all the features it has, visualizing Revit projects is easier and more enjoyable. There are different rendering methods to choose from, including the cloud rendering service, Chaos Cloud, which is a cost-saving feature since it allows users to render their projects without having to worry about hardware maintenance cost.
Batch Rendering is also a useful feature to reduce the hassle of rendering multiple renders. It is currently not supported in the cloud service, but perhaps one day it will eventually be supported. You can click the link below to download V-Ray Advanced for Revit for Windows:
