This software was developed by a software development company called Chaos Group. The originators and founders of this company are Peter Mitev and Vladimir Koylazov. 

A Glimpse of V-Ray History

The origin of Chaos V-Ray for SketchUp was to render a 3D model to create a photorealistic modeling result. What is photorealistic or photorealistic rendering? Photorealistic rendering is a rendering technique in 3D modeling software that is used to create a model that looks like a real model.
