1. It is necessary to disable your antivirus before installing TechSmith Camtasia 2024. If you use Microsoft Defender, you can disable it from Windows Security, which can be opened from the Start menu.

2. Click Manage settings.

3. After you disable Real-time protection, make sure to disable the rest as well.

4. You will also need to disconnect your internet network.

5. Extract the installer from the ZIP archive. The password is 123.

6. Open the extracted folder, then double-click camtasia.exe.

7. Click OK.

8. Check all the boxes, then click Options.

9. Uncheck Start Camtasia 2024 after installation, then click Continue.

10. Hit the Install button. If UAC (User Account Control) pops up, press Yes.

11. Click Finish when the installation ends.

12. Navigate to the folder where Camtasia installer is located, then extract Hook.

13. Open the Techsmith Camtasia Hook folder

14. Copy winmm.dll.

15. Go to where Camtasia is installed, then paste the winmm.dll.

16. Click Continue to provide the access permission.

17. You need to exclude winmm.dll in your antivirus. To do this, open Windows Security, click Manage settings, and scroll down to click Add or remove exclusions. If UAC pops up, hit Yes.

18. Click Add an exclusion, then click File.

19. Navigate to the installation folder where the winmm.dll is located, and then double-click the file or click the Open button.

20. The file is now excluded from future scanning.

21. Launch TechSmith Camtasia 2024. When you run it for the first time, you will see the window shown in the image below. Click OK.

22. It takes a while for Camtasia to open on the first run, so be patient. Subsequent launches will be faster.
