Shadow of the Colossus was released for PlayStation 2 consoles in 2005. Thirty five people began its development in 2002. The development project was named NICO. It was a pretty ambitious project that strove to develop the best game.

Features and Highlights

The story of Shadow of the Colossus centers on a male character named Wander. He has one purpose in life that he has to fill, and that is the resurrection of Mono, a dark haired girl who he carries with him. He travels to a spiritual place called the Shrine of Worship by riding on a horse named Agro, a loyal companion of his that has been together with him for a long time.

When he arrives at the destination, what he sees is a gigantic structure. In that place, he is welcomed by several shadow creatures, but simply a wave of his sword is sufficient to make them disappear. The sword makes Dormin surprised that the entity decides to appear in front of Wander. It is obvious that Dormin recognizes the sword.

Wander tells the entity about his plight and requests for the revival of the girl. Dormin agrees to bring her back to life as long as Wander is willing to perform a task. He must destroy the idols by killing the colossi. There are sixteen colossi in total, each of which is a frightening creature. It is possible to kill them since Wander has the Ancient Sword.

The Ancient Sword is the main weapon that Wander uses in his battle with the colossi. The sword does not have an exaggerated size, but it is still a powerful weapon and its strength can increase. In addition to its ability to kill a colossus, the Ancient Sword can also be used to find the location of a colossus. The way it works is by gathering light which shows him the right way.

Despite its power, it is not easy to kill a colossus, and it will be getting more difficult as the game progresses. Strength alone is not enough to complete the mission. Each colossus has a weakness and Wander has to discover what that weakness is. Even after knowing the weakness, it can still take a fairly long time to kill a colossus.
