The King of Fighters 2002 – PS2 ISO & ROM (Game Download)

The King of Fighters 2002 is the ninth installment in the franchise that comes with a revamped Power Gauge system. The 4-on-4 battle format is removed in favor of 3-on-3 battle format.

The title speaks for itself as to what the game is about, which is none other than fighting. Each of the teams that participate in the fight is made of three fighters. It lacks a storyline, but there are many characters that the player can choose in the game.

Features and Highlights

Kyo Kusanagi, nicknamed Scion of the Flame, is one of the fighters that has existed since The King of Fighters ’94. He comes from a reputable Kusanagi clan that had a major role in sealing a snake entity named Orochi many years ago. Being the heir of the clan, he is blessed with the power to control fire known as Pyrokinesis. He can create fire and attack his opponents with the fire.

Benimaru Nikaido, nicknamed The Shooting Star, is a friend of Kyo Kusanagi. He has a gift that allows him to control electricity. Electric Fist is not the only attack technique he can do. He can even summon lightning if he wants to. As if that isn’t powerful enough, he can also move very fast beyond a normal human is capable of.

Goro Daimon is a strong fighter with a warm personality. He relies on Kodokan Judo for fighting, but his most powerful weapon is his physical strength, which is simply unbelievable as he can create a seismic wave just by smacking the ground.

Terry Bogard, born in the United States, is a likable young man who has the ability to utilize the power of Gia, which he uses to fire energy projectiles and perform other attack techniques such as Burn Knuckle, Crack Shoot, Power Geyser, and Create Fire. He also excels in executing acrobatic moves when fighting an opponent.

Mary Ryan is a female fighter with a short blonde hair in The King of Fighters 2002. Same as Terry, she can perform energy based attacks, but she utilizes ki energy rather than chi energy. Additionally, weight differences doesn’t matter at all for her when it comes to throwing an opponent. Her other skills that have nothing to do with fights is motorcycle riding and background investigation.

Shermie, who made her first appearance in The King of Fighters ’97, has the same ability as Mary Ryan in throwing opponents regardless of the weight differences. Grappling and Orochi powers are her fighting style.

In addition to the characters mentioned above, there are still many other playable characters in the game, which is one of its strong points. The interaction between characters also make the game a bit more interesting. At least it can make up for the lack of plot. As a classic game, it is no surprise that the graphic quality is not up to today’s standard, but The King of Fighters 2002 can still bring you the joy when you’re bored and need some action.
