# Tekken Tag Tournament

The PlayStation 2 version of Tekken Tag Tournament released in 2000 has a better graphic quality than that of the arcade version which came out around a year before. It was supported by an enhanced game engine that allowed the graphics to be more detailed.

Tekken Tag Tournament does not have a storyline, but it boasts a large number of playable characters. Overall there are 39 characters that are ready to fight in the game. 37 of them are returning characters, while the rest are new additions which include Tetsujin and Unknown.

## Features and Highlights

The tag system in the game allows the player to select two fighters. During a match, the fighters can be swapped with each other, making it possible for the game to be played more strategically.

Tetsujin in Tekken Tag Tournament is nearly identical to Mokujin. The only thing that makes them different in terms of appearance is that Tetsujin is made from metal while Mokujin is made from wood. Tetsujin has the ability to adopt the fighting style of the opponent. Winning ten matches against Tetsujin will turn the character to gold.

In addition to Tetsujin, there is Unknown. The final boss of Tekken Tag Tournament. She is a silent person who seems dislike socializing with other people. Her appearance is shrouded in mystery, but one thing for sure is that she cares Jun Kazama. She even uses his fighting style in the tournament.

Jun Kazama, who appeared in Tekken 2, also presents in Tekken Tag Tournament. She is the one who gives birth to Jin Kazama and raises him all by herself. As a part of Kazama family, she relies on Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts to fight.

Tiger Jackson, who made his debut in Tekken 3, is back in the tournament. Some of his moves are Rio Deal and Rio Special, both of which use his feet to throw an opponent. Though the moves are slightly different, the damage level they inflict to the opponent is the same. The most powerful throw attacks that also use his feet is called Air Mail, which inflicts damage as much as 60 points if successfully executed.

Wang Jinrei, an unlockable character in Tekken Tag Tournament who appears in a number of Tekken series, an old man with a lot of information. He uses a beautiful martial art known as Xin Yi Liu He Quan, which is considered as one of the most powerful Chinese martial arts. Among his attack moves are Dragon Thrust which is executed by performing a sudden low dash to grab the opponent’s waist and then slam the opponent into the ground.

Even without a storyline, Tekken Tag Tournament is still an entertaining fighting game. The large number of characters joining the tournament makes up for the lack of the story. The tag system is a nice twist to the gameplay, making the game more enjoyable to play. Even more so with the addition of Tekken Bowl, a mini game included in Tekken Tag Tournament.
