Jak and Daxter are back in action in another fascinating action video game under the title of Jak 3. In this game, they have been banished by a corrupt Count to the Wasteland. Jak almost dies when searching the desert. It is thanks to the leader of Spargus that he can survive.

Spargus is a place where the refugees gather. King Damas is the first leader of the town. It is a harsh place to live in so the people arm themselves for protection. In that place, Jak and Daxter need to prove their worth if they want to stay there.

Features and Highlights

Spargus citizens mostly rely on buggies to travel through the dessert. Each of buggies has a four rugged wheels and armed with submachine guns or other kinds of weapons, like a grenade launcher.

There are more than one buggy in Jak 3. The buggies are split into two main groups, namely Driveable Buggies and Marauder Buggies. The first buggy that Jak owns is Tough Puppy which is not equipped with any armor but can perform a decent jump.

As the player progresses through the game, there will be more buggies, powers, and areas unlocked. Upgrades are also available for purchase. The game uses Precursor orbs as the currency and there are many ways to earn the orbs.

As with many other games, the protagonists in Jak 3 also receives missions. The missions are varied. Sometimes there are enemies that must be eliminated, a train that has to be escorted, an eco mine that must be explored, a location that must be protected from enemy attacks, an item that must be found, and so on.

The missions eventually lead Jak and Daxter to go back to Haven City. At first Jak refuses to do so because of his anger for being banished from the city even though he has done nothing that deserves the punishment. After completing a few missions though, he changes his mind.

Jak 3 retains the combat style of its predecessor, but it also comes with an improvement that allows Jak to activate Dark Jak whenever the situations demand it. The other improvements are Dark Punch and Shadow Invisibility.

Unlike the Dark Punch, the Shadow Invisibility can be used without activating Dark Jak. It is a power intended for defense. The Dark Punch, on the other hand, is a type of attack that can hit the target from a long distance. However, it is not easy to aim the punch.

The Morph Gun is one of the weapons that Jak uses in Jak 3. It is a base device where mods, such as Peace Maker and Scatter Gun, can be attached to. In Jak 3, the modifications have been expanded that makes them twelve in total.

The mods can be unlocked over the course of Jak 3. The origin of the Morph Gun itself is unclear, but the information does not affect the overall game. What matters the most is that the weapon helps Jak to defeat his enemies.
