Guitar Hero 2 – PS2 ISO & ROM (Game Download)

The fans of Guitar Hero series rejoiced when the second installment, Guitar Hero 2, was released in 2006. It became another huge success with more than 3 million copies sold.

The gameplay mechanics are similar to the previous entry with some changes here and there to improve the overall gameplay. The difficulty levels are still the same with Easy as the easiest level and Expert as the hardest one.

Features and Highlights

Guitar Hero 2 has a cooperative play mode that allows two players to play a song together with each takes a different role. In most songs, there are playable Guitar and Bass tracks. In several songs, there are Lead Guitar and Rhythm Guitar tracks. Which roles the players will take depend on the song being played.

In the previous game, the multiplayer mode allows two players to compete with each other. The same mode is still retained in Guitar Hero 2 but now it is called Face-off. There is also another mode called Pro Face-off, which is basically the advanced version of Face-off and can only be played after it is unlocked. The only way to unlock the mode is to complete the Career mode on at least the medium difficulty level.

The new feature that beginners would probably like the most is the Practice mode. It allows the player to play songs at a selected speed level from slowest to full speed. Additionally, instead of playing the entire song, certain sections of a song can be selected. On a side note, the Star Power and Rock Meter are not available in the mode.

The Career mode in Guitar Hero 2 provides eight playable characters to act as the guitarist. There are also additional characters but they are only available for purchase.

The songs in the Career mode are divided into tiers. Each tier can have different number of songs which the player must complete to unlock the next tier. Each tier also comes with an encore song that can be played after the player finishes all the required songs.

The Career is not the only mode where the player can play solo. There is also Quick Play. In this mode, the player can go back to play an unlocked song. At the beginning of a selected song, the difficulty level can be adjusted.

Another nice addition to Guitar Hero 2 is the 3-button chords, unlike the previous game where there are only 2-button chords. A chord itself is a group of notes that appear in a row on the screen. When a 3-button chord shows up, the player must press three buttons at once to play the chord correctly. The first time the chord appears in Guitar Hero 2 is when the “Mother” song is played.

The whole point of the second entry in the series is just the same as the previous, which is to have fun by playing a guitar following the notes that keep scrolling down on the screen until the music ends.
