Gran Turismo 4 is one of the most thrilling car racing games ever created. Out of all the series, this is the sixth installment. Features and Highlights

B-Spec mode is a new addition in Gran Turismo 4. In this mode, there are five speed levels from the safest to the fastest, but you are not the one who drives the car. It is the AI driver. Your role is to give instructions to the driver. You can tell the driver to overtake cars and to take a pit stop if necessary, for example. Two view modes are available. The first is the action view that allows you to watch the race, and the second one is the informational view that shows the position of each car in the race.

A-Spec mode is the normal mode that lets you dive into action. Here you can accumulate points up to 200 points for each race that you win. Using a less powerful car than your AI opponents will earn you more points. Another way to get points, as well as some credits, is to complete the driving missions.

In Gran Turismo 4, there are 34 A-Spec driving missions which are grouped into five categories, each of which tests different skills. Every time you win a category, you will get a new car. The Pass category, for example, contains 10 missions where your skill in overtaking another car is put to the test. The Three Lap Battles is another category which consists of 10 challenges, each one pushes your driving skill to the limit. If you want the Pagani Zonda LM Race Car, then you will have to take the Splitstream Battles and prove that your slipstreaming technique is better than the opponents.

Photo Mode is also a new addition in Gran Turismo 4 where you control a camera to take pictures of your car at various locations. The mode supports three compression levels: SuperFine, Fine, and Normal. The pictures can then be saved into a folder of your choice and set up as the new wallpaper for your desktop.

What is also new in Gran Turismo 4 is the amount of the difficulty levels which is a lot more than that of Gran Turismo 3. There are some complaints about how unrealistic the steering is and how the game lacks of online play but overall it is a very recommended car racing game.
